Meet the San Antonio Team Behind Birchbark Roofing San Antonio
Every roof in San Antonio takes a beating from the summer sun and those sudden April hailstorms. The crew we’ve put together here knows this city’s weather patterns, its neighborhoods, and the specific ways Texas heat ages shingles faster than you’d expect. They’re the ones who show up on time, introduce themselves by name, and treat your driveway like it belongs to a neighbor, not a job site. Most of them grew up in and around San Antonio, which means they’ve got family here, kids in local schools, and a real stake in doing work they can stand behind.
Our People
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been on San Antonio roofs for 14 years, and he’s seen just about every failure mode this climate can produce. He’s certified with GAF and CertainTeed installation systems, and he’s the one who does the final inspection on every repair and replacement our crew completes. Marcus keeps a small notebook in his truck with sketches of tricky flashing details he’s solved over the years, and he’ll happily show you exactly what’s happening on your roof before any work begins. On weekends he coaches his son’s little league team on the north side, which means he knows half the families in Stone Oak by their first names.
Dana R., Senior Installer
Dana came to roofing through metal fabrication and it shows in her precision with ridge caps and valley flashing. She’s been installing for nine years and carries IKO and Owens Corning factory training certifications, along with a reputation for the cleanest tear-off site our crew has ever produced. Dana is the reason our drop cloths and shoe covers actually get used on every single visit, because she treats the inside of your house with the same care as the roof she’s protecting. When she’s not on a job, she’s restoring a 1960s ranch house in Jefferson Heights, so she knows exactly how much it matters to keep a family’s home clean during construction.
Benny S., Service Coordinator
Benny is the voice you’ll hear when you call Birchbark Roofing San Antonio at (903) 354-7802, and he’s been coordinating roofing work in this city for six years. He schedules every job, walks you through the written price sheet line by line before anything starts, and sends you the photo of the completed clean-up before the crew pulls out of the driveway. Benny grew up in the Medical Center area and speaks fluent Spanish, which comes in handy for the many bilingual households we serve across Bexar County. He’s got a dry sense of humor about Texas summers, and he’ll tell you straight if a repair can wait until fall or if it needs attention now.
Luis A., Apprentice
Luis is the newest member of our San Antonio crew, now in his second year of training under Marcus and Dana. He’s working through his manufacturer certifications and has already shown a knack for diagnosing attic ventilation issues that other people miss. Luis was born and raised in the Southside and takes a lot of pride in working on homes in the neighborhoods where he grew up. He’s the one always the first one up the ladder at 6:30 a.m. to beat the worst of the afternoon heat, and our clients appreciate that he never rushes a single step, even when the sun is brutal.
Styles & brands we work with

One Standard, Every Job
We’re part of the Cedarwell family of roofing companies, which means our San Antonio team works to the same standard as every other independently owned Cedarwell location since 2000. The 365-Day Done Right Promise is stamped on every job we do here: if the work isn’t right, we make it right. That promise isn’t a slogan to us. It’s the reason Marcus walks the roof a second time before we call it done, why Dana checks the attic for stray nails after every tear-off, and why Benny won’t schedule a job unless he can give you a written price in dollars before any work starts. Background-checked, uniformed, and trained on the materials we use from GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, IKO, Atlas, Tamko, and Boral, our people follow the same C.A.R.E. values on every home: Clean up like it’s our own home, Ask before we move or touch anything, Respect the family’s time and quiet hours, and Explain the price before the work. A live person answers our phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so when you call (903) 354-7802, you’re talking to someone like Benny, not a voicemail tree.

AfterFrequently Asked Questions
You’ll know the names before anyone arrives. Marcus, Dana, Luis, and the rest of our crew wear uniforms and carry identification, so you can see exactly who is walking through your gate. Every technician is background-checked before they ever step onto a San Antonio property. If you have questions about who’s scheduled for your job, call (903) 354-7802 and Benny will walk you through the crew list for your project.
We use shoe covers at the door, drop cloths through the hallway, and tarps around the perimeter where debris might fall. Dana runs a final sweep of the yard with a magnetic roller to catch stray nails, and Benny sends you a photo of the completed clean-up before the crew leaves. If your dog needs to stay inside during the work, we coordinate the door schedule with you, and we use pet-safe products where there’s a choice. Call (903) 354-7802 to talk through your home’s specific needs before the job starts.
Yes. Our crew members are San Antonio residents, not contractors flown in from another state after a storm. They know the specific weather patterns here: the way summer UV degrades asphalt shingles faster than manufacturer averages, the damage April hailstorms do to clay tile in Alamo Heights, and how the humidity affects attic ventilation in older homes. When you hire us, you’re hiring neighbors who plan to be here long after your roof is finished.
